Jannic Heidrich — Developer & Apprentice
I'm Jannic, a 19-year-old developer and apprentice based in Germany. I got into programming through my father — he sparked the initial curiosity, and from there it took on a life of its own. The first real projects I worked on were games I started building myself, and that's where I realized this was more than just a hobby. By day I work as a software developer in my apprenticeship, learning the craft from the ground up. Outside of that, I spend most of my time building a productivity app ecosystem entirely on my own. From the architecture decisions to the design details, every part of it is mine. That's the part I care about most. I care a lot about how things look and feel. Minimalism isn't just an aesthetic for me — it's a way of thinking. I'm constantly exploring what a highly productive workspace looks like, what gets in the way of focus, and how good design can quietly solve that. That curiosity runs through everything I build. I stay close to what's happening in tech. New tools, new approaches, new ways of building — I'm always paying attention. Not to follow every trend, but to understand what's actually moving things forward. My long-term goal is to run my own small software universe. A collection of apps, built with intention, owned completely. I'm not in a rush — I'm doing this the right way. I document everything publicly. The wins, the rebuilds, the decisions that didn't work out. If you're building something on your own, I hope it's useful to watch someone else do the same.
